actually this movie was based on a graphic novel also called 300
the directors of the movie even said so

No it was based on a graphic novel: look up 300_(comics) on wikipedia. Scenes and lines in the movie are taken directly from this comic, even some perspective shots were made to look like panels from the comic. The comic wasn't made to be historically accurate. Thus in the movie its depicted as being told through the eyes of one of their propaganda people, not as a historical account.

Wrong again, This movie was based on the book Gates of Fire. But the baseline of this story was historically correct.

Actually this movie is really accurate, considering its based on a comic book, not the historical event that everyone compares it to :p

Wrong on so many levels. This a true story of a few thousand greeks that stood against the worlds biggest army and stopped them. The only way they could beat them was by threating a goat farmer to show them an old pass(historic fact, different from the movie). But they did stop and almost beat the whole persian army and that's why it's amazing.
