simply mentioning or unfairly comparing columbine does not warrant police action and this child should not have been harassed there are more appropriate ways to express your discontent with something someone says.

One of the only reasons that so many people died at Columbine was they had a closed campus which gave them targets to shoot at. If this tradgedy were to happen at Sunrise it might be far worse because of the overcrowded lunches and size of our school. This is what I beleive Cheyenne Bernier was trying to say

If we're gonna talk about SAFETY, talk about teen driver safety AT ALL TIMES! If lunchtime were the only time teens were driving, then closing the campuses would save lives. But if we look at the bigger picture, closing the campuses only covers the problem. If you want to talk to me about SAFETY and SAVING LIVES, talk about making teens better drivers and promoting the use of seatbelts. I guarantee these will save significantly more lives than closing campuses ever could.

I can tell that several of those who are posting on here are not very informed about this issue. I was on the open/closed campus committee, I have done extensive research, and I am very involved with this issue. Cheyenne is not out of line and is only using one of many examples to show how a closed campus has negative impacts; she's not giving a threat. Parents should have the right to choose. It's not open or closed. It's not even a compromise. It's something I like to call SYNERGY.

In this instance, Knecht did absolutely nothing wrong. The people who should be ashamed are those who posted the videos. This is the definition of a smear campaign, designed to shame someone you disagree with into resigning from an elected position. As if that wasn't bad enough, the young speaker had the gall to insinuate that Columbine could happen at a PUSD school as a result of CC. Intended threat or not, she got less than what she deserved. She and her parents should be ashamed.
