There are 6 volumes on DVD of these classic "Flatt & Scruggs Grand Ole Opry" TV series, available on the Shanachie label - 2 1/2 hour episodes to each DVD. Here is a band which was at its absolute peak at this time. Notice how much FUN they all have. Lester & Earl - simply tops ! But I also just love Uncle Josh, Cousin Jake, and of course Paul Warren and Curly Seckler here as well. What wonderful footage, from a truly all-time unique golden era of Bluegrass / Old Time Stringband music.

I checked out a copy of volume 1 from this series from the library and have watched it several times. The music and presentation are just thoroughly enjoyable, even the advertisements about Martha White flour. They still make Martha White flour, but now you get the recipes on the Internet instead of by sending a postcard.
