This reminds me of my late Dad. He was a big Piaf fan, but this song in particular had a special meaning for him. I always wondered if it had anything to do with a french girl maybe from his time spent fighting in france during the war...

watch La Vie en Rose, its a film based on her life. she looks like a stoner. her actions are very disappointing. watch it its actuly good.

Here's a true story! When I was in the Army, I was stationed in Germany. On pay nights, French "girls" were "brought in" to some of the bars frequented by American soldiers. The shortest way to their favor was to play Edith Piaf on the jukebox. They were absolutely besotted with her.
