Yeah I agree, the last Ice Age was resolved purely through the natural cycle of our planet. What really impacted my point of view was contrasting the last Ice Age temperature with the fluxuating tempretures up to the present and how it's so high above what's occured before. I mean it would be convenient if we had evidence that mammoths had cruised around in SUVs.

I hear you. There are always going to be lunatics on either side of any major debate. On an issue as complicated as Global Warming, I think the only honest answer is that we don't have enough data to come to a firm conclusion, and even if all the information is out there, it's split up between two differing sides who won't share it because it would mean conceding certain areas of contention. You're right about the good of it. Nothing wrong with being less wasteful and planting a few more trees.

Aw sorry man, I thought you were one of these LaRouchian punks (have a look at watch?v=o3HaaPz8hgQ). I understand what you're saying; the contradictions evident to each side of the argument are numerous. Think of it this way Global Warming (as policy) is slowly making industry more accountable for the environmental and public health problems it has caused. What's the harm from planting more trees and being more mindful of the resources we use?

i don't know who Lyndon LaRouche is, so do what you want. What if the present warming of the Earth is part of a natural cycle our planet goes through? Either way, it doesn't account for RECORD COLD in North America and Asia.
chiefblackhawk (August 19th, 2008 @ 4:34 am)
do you see my point though? I don't deny global warming is happening, but it is foolishness to write off any reasonable theories. Just a couple questions for you: answer them yourself, you seem like a person reasonable enough to research it instead of rejecting it out of hand. What caused us to emerge from the last Ice Age? Couldn't have been SUVs... What about recent record cold temperatures in parts of North America and Asia and the return of Arctic Sea ice?
