King said the movies ending was better than the book and he wishes that he'd written it. 'Nuff said! Let's face it: you get through that batshit crazy stuff in the market; you manage to get to the car without becoming something's dinner; you go out into the mist and you see a devastated world and then this GIANT CTHULU THING manages to not get you...for all you know THAT is the world now and SOMETHIGN is going to get you eventually. Most of us would be wishing to wake up from the nightmare....

I just saw this movie yesterday and it absolutely blew my mind. It's so well shot and the ending kills me lol! Glad he came up with a different ending for the movie than the one in the book. It works so well.

It's obvious Thomas Jane has no idea what he's talkin about...lol.

I agree
Clifftothemax (July 7th, 2008 @ 11:38 pm)
Agree on both points.
I'm not sure if there is a movie with an 100% unhappy ending, but I might have seen at least one.
Either way it would be nice to see them more often as it would be more realistic if you ask me (lets face it, not everything ends on a positive outcome).
Psychology (July 7th, 2008 @ 11:24 pm)
true, but I just have a personal issue angainst any sort of happiness in an ending. For once, I want a complete unhappy ending, 100%. The Mist was still an awesome movie, though.
Clifftothemax (July 7th, 2008 @ 11:11 pm)
Yeah, but the main character killed his son and all the survivors (in what he felt was a mercy killing) before that happened.
So, that equals an 'unhappy' ending (the military isn't the main focus).
