( continuation ) - It's something like the difference between East Coast f i Brubeck & West Coast ; between intelect & the Soul ; between clever makings and loops and riffs & so pulsing heart_breaking_like the forces of nature_gooseBumping rhythms. Like Brubeck vs Petrucciani , - - hear that ONE single tone produced by Peacock in the Sentimental Mood piece (Irin) . . which makes the whole song - Ray did that TOO . . .

Hi - I shouldn't have said that and that's why I mostly on YT give 5***** - but these are profs - and they received already so many stars that it could create a wrong idea about how they play : sort of satisfaction . Of course they are brilliant and I don't know their other work and all is subjective. But 2 are teachers and so I took the audace because the future of Jazz is in their hands - when you see my pages/songs you might graps what I mean - (need a secondframe) . . .

However, I don't understand a couple of things: A) Explain what "grooving" is and how this performance doesn't meet that expectation B) This is one performance and it certainly doesn't represent or encompass the entire career of Hurst or Allen. They are continuing the tradition of jazz and Ray Brown by pushing boundaries and exploring new facets of improvisation. These musicians are more rooted in tradition than most
