OMG! I just watched La Vie en Rose, and it was amazing. She is amazing. I love her voice. She had such an amazing life!

The sound quality of this recording does not do her justice, so check out her May 1959 performance of this song on the Ed Sullivan show in USA. If you browse the versions of Milord it is the one with her standing infront of a Parisian back drop (bridge, buildings etc). Sound quality is excellent and the performance amazing, especially condsidering it was not that long after her release from presbyterian hospital. enjoy

Her strong voice was developed on the sidewalks of Paris where she sang as a child alongside her father who was a street performer. She became known as the "little sparrow" cos a sparrow's song is much louder than you'd expect from its tiny little body. The name stayed with her all her life. She is one of my favourite singers of all time.... timeless.
