what do you know of ancient ways? enlighten us. how do you know the path they walk isn't the path walked many centuries ago. due to persecution and hate the "ancient ways" are gone and all we have left is rediscovery. so don't knock people for trying to see the world through different eyes one day what they learn may be profound to you. i'm a "neo-pagan" but i didn't seek the ancient ways they saught me. may the path you walk lead you where you wish to go

And you missed my point entirely re the more tolerant society. Gardner was able to publish his books about witchcraft in 1950's Britain because the witchcraft laws were repealed. Witches throughout the country could be open about their faith and practices again but they were already there before the 1950's. Yes, fascism exists today also dangerous extremism in christianity and islam. But last time I looked witches were not being burnt alive in UK and USA !

There are no buildings covering my beautiful wooded land, 696. So yes, this old crone can be in touch with nature and I am not the only one. The world is far more complex then your understanding of wicca and spirituality gleaned from books and your 21 year old's perception and cynicism.

actually wicca the religion itself is only 54 years old, it adopted from ancient pagan religions, wicca isn't an ancient religion reborn sorry but it ain't, yes but there is a difference between now & back then, technology has taken over, i doubt anybody can actually be in touch with nature with buildings covering the land, hehe it ain't just teenagers doing that lol, & believe me if i was being hostile my words would be way so horrid, tolerant society? the world has more fascists now than ever

Your concept that wicca is not more then a fifty year old fad is factually incorrect. Gardner built on existing sources. Any benign neo-pagan faith that is growing and thriving should surely be welcomed then reviled. All human culture evolves and adapts.
