Good friend (now deceased) was a member of the KKK, and everyone knew it. He hated just about every member of other races or religion. In 1950, he (along with three other marines) got trapped in a minefield in N. Korea. His left leg was blown off at the knee. The other 3 marines were killed. A black marine (whom he hated), risked his life to rescue him and carried him almost 900 yards to safety. My friend realized then what a fool he had been. Became best friends with his rescuer.

I have never been able to understand how ANYONE can hate another person just because of that person's skin colour, race, religion, or political belief. While I certaintly understand that some people are indeed dispicable, that does not mean that the ENTIRE group is the same. There are good people, and evil people, in every culture. What has hating each other gained us?
