RPG's with complicated rule sets are bogus now that computers do it automatically. The key is imagination, not endless piles of overpriced hardcover books to compensate for lack of imagination. FUDGE is far better on that score, because it requires you to think, imagine, and focus on story and character, not game mechanics. Too much crunch kills role playing and story overall. Few mechanics are needed to have fun unless your GM is bad, and then you are just roll playing and not role playing

you know; if wizards of the coast had the mind to redo the game properly, they might actually get somewhere with it

d20 is great mechanic to play, but my game of choice is dnd ;]

I disagree respectfully. I prefer the D10 and percentile games like Cthulhu, World of darkness and all flesh must be eaten.

D20 system is superior!

The Monsters also need to be overhaulded, IMO, & returned to a more standard layout rather than ALL monsters having class levels so that regularly DND supplements can be used. This game suffers because of the enormous vacuum of supplemental content that could have otherwise been easily draw from other 3.5 DND game books. It would also be nice if they changed the flavorless core class titles... "Strong Hero" doesn't exactly have a cool ring to it if you catch my drift.

D20 is a good game, but it could be much better. the game as it stands is extremely paradigm negative, which is to say you can play whatever you want and run whatever kind of game you want. IMO, they unnecessarily nerfed the magic/psionics. it's also extremely easy for PC's to owing to the combat system requiring frequent save or die checks.

Thanks for the review. I'd love to see you review "SLA Industries".

Is it just me or is Mr Wielgel's voice very good , as in it's measured and calm. He could get a job doing voice-overs.

Thank you so much for these! They are so helpful. It's nice to get opinions from fellow gamers, especially experienced ones, before you run out and buy thirteen books! It gets spendy! I am playing a d20 Modern/Past/Future campaign right now. I love playing outside the box. Thanks again, these are very informative and well-done.
