some argue that the large screen videos took away from a purely sonic onslaught, which had its own benefits. it's the same when comparing warm analog sound to a wall of digital sound.

rush is amazing,there my favorite band in the world,but this rush in rio and vapor trails both have shitty ass mixing on them.its just way to muddy sounding.but no offence to these guys,there a awesome band

The distortion you're hearing is the transfer from the DVD to whatever format the person who uploaded it used. They had the audio output gain settings up way too freakin' high when recording from whatever source they used, thus the awful distortion. The DVD doesn't sound like this at all. It's shocking, I know, but not everyone on YouTube is an audio/video tech/engineer. Also, all of the comments are grammatically correct, thoroughly researched and carefully thought out before posting. LOL! ;)

Ya they really haven't worked with many great engineers in their day, only 2 or 3 of their albums actually have some great tones and production.

this band's success certainly qualifies as a significant Canadian accomplishment, but that doesn't say much. It's incredible how shitty they sound for how talented each of the members are.

Dont forget RUSH was way ahead of everyone,they were the first to use a large screen behind them as they played, now many groups and singers copy this.RUSH rules!

Iron Maiden have played to 250 000 people so this is not near that, and Rock in Rio 1985 had over 350 000 people. But this is a really cool concert and Rush is very very good!

You are mistaken. There were only about 40,000 people at this gig. If you had the DVD, you'd know that they had 20,000 more in Sao Paulo on the same tour, and even that pales in comparison to other, larger concerts (mostly festivals, like Rock in Rio or Live Aid)
