I'm sorry, no. The only book I found online with the name GEB in relation to intelligence was one on AI --- ***Its not about AI. I HIGHLY doubt that they took the time to explain the complete schism between all the disciplines of psychology on what intelligence is. ***Yet you are clueless.

OK, you're right. Someone who goes to church every Sunday and hears a preacher who screams "God Damn America!!!!" to thunderous cheers and applause must love America. You've beaten me. Your argument makes sense. There's no reason he should have left the church...

And where did Mr. Obama say such a thing? We're deciding his qualifications not the pastors. And how do you know if Obama said something about it or not? You are making assumptions that are dangerous to make because you are stating them as facts.
jimnieb (September 6th, 2008 @ 8:52 pm)
You say that he was at this church with the pastor who said "God Damn America!" and that that proves he hates America. First, would refer back to the above statement and say this is guilt by association. But I would also reference that Obama did say that what the pastor said was not something he agreed with. Additionally, what proof do you have that this pastor had a history of saying such things at any other time?
jimnieb (September 6th, 2008 @ 8:51 pm)
As for Reverend Wright, that's a week argument. If I'm friends with someone who has had an abortion and feels abortion is right does that mean that I feel that abortion is right? No. It's what I feel about the matter that, well, matters. It's this constant choice to assume guilt by association that deflects from the facts of the candidates actual actions, statements and choices.

If he never said it then why did you say it like it was a fact? I hear him say in every speech what he likes about America. The people as in "We The People...". I hear him say he doesn't like how it's been run but that because of his love of the Country he wants to make changes in a positive direction and that's it not about him but about the people.
jeffbatt2000 (September 6th, 2008 @ 7:51 pm)
Of course he never said it. All he did was sit in a church, every Sunday for 20 years while the pastor screamed obscenities about America and did nothing. He not only was never offended by what Wright said, he had him marry him and baptize his children. He is also friends with the founder of a terrorist group who bombed the Pentagon in the 60's and wished he'd done more. Obama launched his Senate campaign in his kitchen. And, his wife said she's never been proud of America before. There you go.

I think your characterization that Obama doesn't like America is wrong. He loves America and has said it. Please quote me a statement where he has said he does not like America. Let's avoid the hyperbole if we can. What he has said he doesn't like is the direction the country has been going. Largest federal government in history while the GOP president and congress where in charge. He started in small government because he loves the US and it's people.

I checked out Snopes.. I.. don't think that's the best place to make a final decision on. I didn't even see mention of his grades. After some digging: He was a C to C- student on average in college. His Sat scores were actually lower than mine lol. He was in the middle of his class at flight school (weird that they gave him a pilot seat):/ And his pilot status was REVOKED after he missed a required physical. I'm sorry but this guy was always unqualified.

I'm sorry, no. The only book I found online with the name GEB in relation to intelligence was one on AI. I HIGHLY doubt that they took the time to explain the complete schism between all the disciplines of psychology on what intelligence is. If the definition of intelligence is relative to the expertise of those defining it without any unifying definition then it is undefined. And I'm not talking about "emotional" or "nonverbal" and the like. I'm talking about the bare-bones definition here...
DURound (August 29th, 2008 @ 10:48 pm)
Have you ever picked up a book on intelligence and read it? -- ***Sure. One of the greatest books of our age. GEB. Have you read it? Nobody in the scientific community has ever been able to even DEFINE it. --- ***That is false. It has been defined. It is just not defined in a way that everyone likes. I WAS however wrong to say that he had the worst grades. Just something I heard. Don't really know. I DO know that his results suck. --- ***Not according to Snopes.
JackWhistle (August 29th, 2008 @ 10:40 pm)
I'm sorry but I disagree with your statement. Have you ever picked up a book on intelligence and read it? Nobody in the scientific community has ever been able to even DEFINE it. So how can you test for it? Besides..IQ tests are designed to find kids with mental difficulties and get them into a SpecialEd class. I'll leave you to find out how that changed :P. I WAS however wrong to say that he had the worst grades. Just something I heard. Don't really know. I DO know that his results suck.
