Pomposity in the largest form, Its The Enid Only times i ever saw them was under a hail of piss filled bottles at Reading Festival. Or the one time at the Dominion theater in London where i fell asleep,

Thanks for that. I must have missed that one. At Nutz they did 'The Dambusters' but instead of 'Land of Hope and Glory', they played 'Cwm Rhondda'. Magical.

Im fairly sure it was the uni, I know i never saw them at the nutz club and i think i remember them being supported at the brangwyn hall by a local band i was really into, called The Ray Morgan Quartet.

The thing is, there was no pretention only knowledge, no self-indulgence - they shared and it was all done with very great humour.

Don't lose touch. We are separate stars within a mutual light etc.....

Mainly because the music industry couldn't categorise them AND because Robert Godfrey is too clever to let anyone control him - and I mean that sincerely. The guy should be Prime Minister. With Francis as chancellor.

Was it the Uni? I thought they played at the Nutz club (in Mumbles) - I might well have missed the other gigs.

continued reply to Little Nell: I have a piece of music called 'The Tallest Dwarf in the World' which (I understand) was to have been his piece on 'Six Pieces'. BRILLIANT oboe player. Please give him my regards. Chris Marsh.

Hey, LittleNell. Yes, I met your Dad a few times at The Enid's house in Hertford and once at a huge 'get-together' (can't remember where that was). Of course, the chances of him remembering me are zero but we talked a great deal. If I remember correctly, he had been on is way to join the Halle Orchestra before joining the Enid.

Hey, I love the video, it's nice to see the video's on youtube. I was just wondering if you remember my dad, Tony Freer. He was oboe and keyboards. He was only in the band for around a year so there aren't loads of people that have heard of him. But yeah was just wondering :)
