Yeah..you can't lose momentum if you're pushing the gas all the time (which he didn't)...he did stop because he stopped pushing the gas pedal(I mean it's that steep so that you can lose momentum that easily while pushing gas)...he later tried again..with no grip(forgot to mention that) and no momentum to support the CR-V..of course it's gonna stop and get stuck..

Hallo to all.I really don't want to say any one is wrong here, but I think that this test was not fer..Pay little bit more attention at 1:20,it is clear that driver on purpose stopped vehicle in up hill position and tried to continue.I drove both vehicles and took it off road and it seams that both are pretty much the same performance..I would also have to agree who ever said that it depends on driver a BIG time.Don't want to criticize anyone, but this up hil,I could make it with my man accord.

This test didnt matter whether it was turbo or NA. Subaru is the best in the Sport Utility Crossover field. RAV4 and CRV cannot compete their AWD system is absolute garbage.

lol to all you who think the crv was the only one that stopped... look at the subie's second go,at about 2:57... the Forester lost its momentum too... but it was able to restart back up unlike the crv... its all in the awd system of Subaru.
thecarexpert (July 10th, 2008 @ 8:31 am)
so the tires have a chance to regain their grip; the crv didn't stop, it lost momentum... but yeah, it probably is a tyre issue. Still, Subaru has one of the best AWD systems around.

i have done this test myself on a subaru drive day and driven both vehicles. the honda system is flawed. though he it does look like they gave the forester an unfair advantage. on a similar surface/ hill i drove both cars and the cr-v didnt make it up. but what was more scary is going down. the honda's dirt road anti lock brakes are hopeless. the car just wouldnt stop.
