Without Milt Jackson, a true jazz giant, M.J.Q would not have been anything special.The introduction claims they filled a need to add aew dimensions to jazz rather than improvising popular ballads but those ballads still dominate and remain jazz's most popular medium. e.g. the Diana Krall success story.

Look up "ultimate smooth" and you will see these guys pictured there. There are musicians and then there is another level on top of that. Thee guys all belong there!

While i do agree with you the only true way for every body to respect each others music is to do eactly that: respect what people are trying to achieve. As they say - One mans trash is another mans treasure. It can be applied to music as well. The problem is to many people make ignorant judgments on styles before they truely listen to what is going on in a tune.
