THE 1st time I heard this-I thought of my real friends-most of all of my best friend TMF-JUST so we COULD FEEL this SONG-THIS COMPASSION-TOO something-RACING-NO STRINGS-MOST FAMILY TYPES REMIND ME OF THE LYRICS-THEY just give UP-BUT I GUESS I missed the TRUTH ABOUT the whole SONG-STILL GRABS MY HEART-JAD

pefemm,i hear you,my wife and i had are share of fast rides in the late 60's early 70's,but like in Bruce's song we all grow old and get wrinckles round our eyes,,now are twins are 24 and it seems it was time we went out and got another street missile.got a new VETTE and still like to dice it up on the street just can't find many takers,lots of possers not many takers,,so we will just continue crussing along..listening to great hot rod tunes and looking for a litlle action.nice to hear from you

Update: After having been in a screwed up relationship for way too long, I have broken free lately. I have found a new partner in crime , and man, what can I say, she likes this song as much as I do. Again, I go out cruising, her head on my shoulder and we have this song on loud. Feels like living again.

pefemm,,you are so right,my wife and i had a hot rod in the early 70's and this song always hits a soft spot in me,,we can still remember those great races and great times we had,no one can take that away,,still makes me feel young and reckless..hope i always feel that way!
