My gad some of the looks on the audience's faces are so snobby-looking, such as at 1:43. It's like they don't want to be there. Which is unfair, because this guy is awesome.

The penny whistle IS awesome. I own three myself, and I've been playing them for a long time. They're great fun!

pennywhistles rule! i play the normal flute but am dying to try out an irish one. i play the pennywhistle quite badly but am improving....

If you wanna learn woodwinds its probably better to go for a tin whistle/penny whistle since its easier to learn. Flutes are a bit more awkward for woodwind beginners to play and you might get frustrated and give up. Same thing almost happened to me. I've been at the irish tin whistle for a while now and I've really gotten attached to it

So am I StollyDolly, and I revisit this every now and again, its so technically brilliant. But I guess it's the way filming was regulated in RTE at the time that imposed the audience stiffness. People seem to have strong opinions both ways, both are grand. Enjoy the music and fun, or get carried away with the artistry ... maybe the latter was more appropriate on this occasion.
