the repair depots have a way of checking inside the computer if liquid damage has happened. although the companies would take your word for it initially, they would still double check their computer. warranties generally do not cover liquid, accidental or intentional damages, since that means the damage could have been avoided by keeping liquids away and by not doing anything to damage the computer.

wow, you sure showed Apple! I have a *newer* 2.4 ghz black one, and I love it. Companies (even apple) tend to screw people on warrenties. I suppose the $249 apple care might be worth it in your case, as it would cost $700 plus to fix it, but it's dumb that they thought it had spill damage. They don't even have water sensors or w.e. they are.

iono man. im a PC guy that just recently switched.. apple service is top notch. its like the Lexus of computers. I dont think they would play you like that. they are better off giving you a new one and getting more money when you buy the upgraded versoin in the future instead of risking something like this. with that said, you shoulda shot it lol

Still not clever.

Atleast it wasn't destroyed for fanboy reasons. Cellphone companies do the same thing. Oh! it has spill damage... sorry. But then it gets quite humid here. I love my iMac I don't want to go back.

Oh wow that's showing them. >.> There is no proof that you didn't spill a drink on it. It looked to me that you were telling the truth, though who am I to say, but they can't just assume that you're telling the truth, because if they did that for everybody they'd lose money. It was just business. I understand both sides, I guess...

Just have a small doubt: You just paid for that. You didn't get warranty services, distroyed it, and THEY STILL HAVE YOUR MONEY! I don't think that's a reasonable way of dealing with these kinds of problems. In my country we can SUE them. Why didn't you do it?

No, you're right! "repairation" is not a word, REPARATION is! Where in my comment do you find "repairation"? I'm not saying that they spill things on someone elses laptop by default to make a profit. I'm saying that they could have done that by mistake, they're not robots. You obviously haven't studied business & economics because the phrase: "The customer is always right" is a trading policy that goes way back in our time. Why would he spill something on the laptop and blame Apple for it?
AdamArson (November 17th, 2008 @ 5:17 am)
Ummm... No, the customer is not always fucking right. When they have money their always right, lol, jk. But if they have proof of spill damage on that laptop, than he or someone else spilled something on it. Why would apple do that themselves? They are making billions, they don't need to make something up to make 700$. Customer satisfaction is top priority in big companies like apple. Who else has had apple do this to them? Not many at all. Um...repairation is not a word. Did they replace ipod?
