never mind.. it's just funny that two people are claiming that James Baker is their father.

The drum beat is pretty similar to Gary Glitter's "Rock & Roll pt 2" That's one of the things I loved about these guys - they were experts at mineing great garage tunes and making the riffs fresh again. Awsome!

ha, ha, ha
By the way, Arthur Kane only died a few years ago.... he was still alive when the Gurus recorded that particular song.

Well, good question, nzoz!!They probably got SO MUCH crap - as Jon Spencer would - like "Why don't you guys have a bass player?" that they probably decided to deal with it in a humourous way,I guess...It might also be an allusion to Arthur 'Killer' Kane of the Dolls...I think Aussie rock REALLY needs a serious book retracing all that period before no one can remember anymore...You can't imagine how many hours I spent trying to improve on Aussie rock family trees drawn by ...ooops can't remember...

it's the original single version with clip of original line-up.
Was Arthur a made up bass player?

And if my ears aren't deceiving me,this is the early single version of the song and not the album version found on "Stoneage Romeos".
