He he i would say it was a blend of the 2 but the police vary with thier music, i think it is great either way.

it's rock, the police brought alot of reggae elements to the scene, but this song doesn't really show it. Roxanne is pretty reggae.

i like the way they sing slow and smooth on the verses, then on the chorus they play all wild and fast. they use the technique on dont stand so close to me too.....
