Actually, the temperature wouldn't be reduced by much at all. Less than a degree. The majority of the liquid nitrogen wouldn't have even contacted the surface of the water, and what did would have boiled off almost instantly.

I dont think there was enough to freeze the pool, and while the temperature would be greatly reduced, im betting it is a heated pool, so it wouldnt be ice cold. Good thoughts though ^_^

The Nitrogen Mixed in with the pool rather quickly and would have turned into Nitrogen gas because of how rapidly it would have boiled.

take into consideration the could have had it in a crushed form in a small amount of water in the bowl to create the "cold smoke" effect then threw it in, *looks like water to me but could be a dry ice slushy so to speak*, The fog doesnt last as long but theres more because it was spread and in smaller chunks but the same amount

katelyn980: you're almost right! Nitrogen evaporates at the ratio of 700 to 1. They had ca. 5L of liquid nitrogen, hence it would have produced 3500L of gas. Sounds like much, but it isn't - it's only 3.5m3, and the volume of the air in the pool is probably 100 times more.
