He's amazing. A lot of people think his facial expressions are arrogant, but he said in interviews that he just gets so into the music and cant help it. I think it adds to his performance. I feel bad for his accompianist, he must be so hard to play with.

He is, without doubt, one of the greatest violinists around. The only thing I REALLY can't stand are the stupid faces he makes when he plays. I think it's so pretentious and unnecessary. In his younger days he was well-behaved when playing. Those kinds of faces just annoy me and detract from his truly magnificent virtuosity

He is really one of the best violinists today...I'd say, along with Alexander Markov. Those two Russian musicians are truly my favorites...
