Winter
BackI made this video as a bit of a departure from my normal ones that focus on the regular POTO love-triangle, or the other videos I've made that are comedic spoofs--this video instead focuses on how Christine allows herself to be manipulated by the three men in her life--her deceased father, the Phantom, and Raoul. This is also meant to show how her relationships with them change--for her father, from idolization to fond remembrance, for the Phantom, from fantasy to fear and lust, and for Raoul, from childhood friendship to abiding love. But no matter how to turn it--any and all of these men control her every action, right down to her motives. It's an important fact we would all do well to remember here. Not once does Christine act very independantly--always her decisions will affect the hopes, dreams and happiness of others: hence they are always playing some part in her decisions. But mostly she just gets played like her Dad's violin by all of them at some point. True, they all care about her--but they all care about her because she is able to fulfill their own dreams of musical greatness and being loved in return (yes, this applies to all three men--remember Christine's mum died, so she was all the family her dad had left; of course he was going to be a bit ambitious for his only child and a little clingy and smothery...thing is, she didn't object so no one knew how badly this could set her up for the future machinations of others, namely the Phantom.) Raoul doesn't really seem to want anything from Christine other than her love...the only time he uses her is as the bait during Don Juan Triumphant...but everyone agrees that is for the best, so it's not just him.
