Rodd Eddy, representative of a multinational lighting company, explains how Africa remains an untapped market for efficient lighting products, mostly due to its widespread population. The global lighting industry met in Accra, Ghana on 6-8 May, to discuss off-grid lighting opportunities and remaining obstacles in Sub-Saharan Africa. The World Bank & IFC Lighting Africa program aims to provide clean, efficient and safe lighting to 250 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa who have no access to electricity.
