The plan was to conduct a few reshoots in late 2007, and then things unraveled. Most troubling was the notion that the film's cancer subplot was being removed to give the film a more upbeat tone, even if it completely guts the story and the motivation for the characters. Hopefully fans can finally embrace this film when it is released on DVD.
