3 Brothers, 3 Friends, 1 Love: Chapter 17 Part 1
BackRiley's POV They were gone. 2 months away from Nick may give me some perspective on how I feel. Or maybe, 2 months away from Nick will leave me depressed and begging for him to come home. I'm hoping to choose option 1. Hayley cried but I wasn't in the crying mood. I decided to suggest a girls sleepover so we could all chat about what we're planning to do this summer. It seemed like we'd known the boys ages but they were only in Cali for a week. We still had the rest of the summer and I wanted to find myself. Everybody has these dramatic changes throughout summer and this year was my turn. I was finally going to grow up. I don't know exactly how I'm going to change yet but I'll let you know when I feel different. It was about 8 when Carson knocked on the door with pillows, ice cream and movies. Mom was out as usual. She was never in these days. We decided to spend the night in the attic as it was more private and way bigger. We already had a tv and supplies up there from when we were younger, but we hardly spent any time up there anymore. We each climbed the wooden ladder carrying the supplies we could mannage and then spread out our blankets on the dusty floor. We had a bowl of popcorn, Ben&Jerry's, sour patch kids and tons on soda. We'd collected the quilts from both mine and Hayley's rooms and also taken our pillows and some cushions from downstairs, so we could make one giant bed and have super comfort. We plopped down on our giant bed of pillowy softness and let out a sigh of relief. "Today has been way stressful." Carson said. "So true. The whole goodbye thing is over rated." I said. "Well, me and Kevin had some fun." Hayley giggled. "I was meaning to ask what happened between you two." Carson teased. "Don't think I didn't see you PDA with Kevin." "Whatever do you mean?" Hayley asked, obviously guilty. "One minute your making out, the next your running into some closet." Carson stated. Hayley gasped at this point which had us all in fits of giggles. Then out of no where Hayley's cell started vibrating. "Hello Beautiful, how's it going? I hear it's wonderful in California!" Hayley and Kevin's song blasted the room and we all knew who the message was from. Hayley flipped open her phone while me and Carson gathered around the screen trying to catch a glimpse of what was said. 'Hey babe! How's your night going? I miss you already. Love Kev. xx' "Awww! He said 'love Kev'." Carson joked. "Ok, my sisters boyfriend is saying the L word. PLEASE EXPLAIN!" I yelled. "Fine. I told Kevin about me and Brad but, I said I wanted to try and make us work. Then I said I'd fallen for him and he said he felt the same way and then, Carson kinda gave the rest away." she giggled. "Awww. Your in love! That's so cute!" I squealed. Then Carson began a pillow fight which always brings out my competative side. I had been whacked upside the head but I quickly hit back. Carson fell over causing Hayley to laugh. We both turned on her and she began screaming but we soon shut her up with one swift hit. We were running all over the attic hitting each other and giggling when eventually we stopped out of breath and ready to watch a movie. "Are you gonna text him back?" I asked. "What should I say?" "How about, 'Kev babe! I totally miss you. My night is awesome as I'm with the most amazing girls in the world. I wish you were here....but HA your not! Lurrve Hay xx'." Carson joked. "I think thats a little too wordy for a text." I told her. "Try this." I grabbed her phone and typed in the message: 'Babe, I'm having a girls night, but I still miss you. How about you? Love Hay xx.' "Me likes." Hayley laughed before pressing the send button and switching her phone to vibrate. We decided to watch American Pie, which we hadn't seen in ages. The laughs were loud and the gross out moments had all of us squealing. We ate half the popcorn and finished all the ice cream, which included Rocky Road and Cookie Dough. The second movie was High School Musical - Carson protested and lost, 2 to 1 - so she endured me and Hayley belting the songs at the top of our lungs and throwing in some of our own dance moves. After our Oscar winning performance of Breaking Free - including cartwheels and a 2 second handstand - it was late and we decided to settle down.
